Ever think of painting your calipers? I just did mine black this past weekend, and it honestly doesn't come out too bad.

I used Duplicolor's brush on kit (available at CT) because I didn't want to deal with masking everything, and because I did black, it honestly looks great with 2 coats. I'm pretty confident that even with a spray can, the 'smooth and reflective' look isn't possible without grinding down the calipers with an angle grinder or the likes.

Between jacking up both ends of the car, removing/replacing the rims, and preping the calipers, it took all of 2 and a bit hours to do.

PS. Duplicolor's shade of blue would go quite well with the lugs and Sonic blue.

The backs have been shot with cast iron colour just to cover some of the rust. I have the duplicolour red kit, I just have not gotten around to it.

The fronts still look like shit because the car is too low for my jack - so I have not been able to take the front wheels off since I put the coilovers on.

I want to raise it a bit for the winter - so I won't be such a lazy ass and will get out the OEM jack to raise it a bit to fit my floor jack under there. When I am adjusting the coilovers, I'll give it a shot of paint.... if time permits before it gets too cold.

hey bmwww how many kits did you need to put 2 coats on all 4 calipers, was 1 enough??? I'm thinking of doing this too and Sunday looks like a nice day to do it.

I'm not going to lie, with the Dupli Color brush on kit, there's probably enough paint to do 5 cars, no lie.-- AND that's with 2 coats on calipers, + single coat on the dust shield behind the front rotors was it?

I did 2 coats on all four rotors, and I'm pretty sure I'm not even 1/4 way through the can of paint-- I'm not sure if its my application technique (more thin layers = better--+ I painted houses the entire summer), but there's more than enough to go around.

Just be sure to use something more 'substantial' than a 'toothbrush' as they suggested-- I used a steel bristled brush. Also, if you have sensitive skin or have open cuts on your hand, USE A GLOVE-- the prep spray consists of something that feels like acetone, and BURNS LIKE NO END on cuts.

PLENTY to spare.
